SUMMARY:ALCHEMHY at CCESC 2026: Advancing plasma-assisted methanol synthesis
DESCRIPTION:ALCHEMHY will be represented at the 6th International Symposium on Catalysis for Clean Energy and Sustainable Chemistry (CCESC 2026)\, taking place in Madrid\, Spain\, from 28 to 30 September 2026. \nThe international symposium brings together researchers and industry representatives to exchange knowledge on the latest developments in catalysis\, clean energy and sustainable chemistry. \nAs part of the conference programme\, our partner CIIAE will contribute with a presentation entitled “Plasma-assisted methanol synthesis from carbon dioxide and hydrogen”. \nThe contribution will highlight work related to the conversion of CO₂ and hydrogen into methanol using plasma-assisted processes\, providing an opportunity to share ALCHEMHY-related research with the wider scientific and industrial community and exchange insights with experts working on sustainable chemical and energy technologies. \nTuesday\, 29 September 2026\n16:00\nContribution: Plasma-assisted methanol synthesis from carbon dioxide and hydrogen\nALCHEMHY partner: CIIAE \nWe look forward to ALCHEMHY being represented at CCESC 2026 and to the discussions and knowledge exchange that the event will bring. \nLearn more about CCESC 2026: www.ccesc2026.com

SUMMARY:European Methanol Summit 2026: Addressing the realities of methanol’s transition in Europe
DESCRIPTION:The European Methanol Summit 2026 will take place on 14–15 October in Valencia\, Spain\, bringing together key players from across the methanol value chain at a crucial moment for the sector. Now in its fifth edition\, the event continues to position itself as a platform for meaningful discussion\, focusing not just on future ambitions but on the practical and commercial realities shaping the industry. \nAs Europe moves towards stricter regulatory frameworks and increasing pressure to decarbonise\, the summit will explore how policies such as emissions trading and maritime fuel regulations are translating into real market demand. At the same time\, participants will reflect on Europe’s competitiveness in a global context\, particularly in relation to rapidly evolving markets in Asia and beyond\, as well as the broader impact of geopolitics and investment conditions. \nA central part of the discussion will focus on the challenges of scaling up renewable methanol. From the availability of sustainable feedstocks such as biogenic CO₂ and biomass\, to the financial risks associated with first-of-a-kind projects\, the programme will address the key barriers that developers and producers face today. The transition from pilot projects to fully commercial plants\, alongside the alignment of financing mechanisms and regulatory frameworks\, will be key themes throughout the event. \nThe second day will shift attention towards demand and infrastructure\, highlighting the role of shipping as an early driver for renewable methanol uptake\, as well as the emerging potential of methanol-to-jet pathways in sustainable aviation fuels. Discussions will also cover infrastructure readiness in European ports\, market mechanisms for long-term supply\, and methanol’s broader role not only as a fuel\, but also as a circular feedstock for chemicals and materials. \nWith confirmed contributions from major industry players\, the summit offers a focused environment for exchange among decision-makers\, fostering dialogue that is both strategic and grounded in real-world constraints. For projects like ALCHEMHY\, such events represent valuable opportunities to stay aligned with industry developments\, identify synergies\, and contribute to the broader transition towards a more sustainable and resilient chemical sector. \nRegister here.
