About ALCHEMHY

The chemical industry is vital to modern society, yet it faces critical challenges, including high greenhouse gas emissions, reliance on fossil fuels and energy-intensive production processes. Ammonia and methanol, essential for agriculture, energy and industry, are among the most resource-demanding chemicals to produce.

ALCHEMHY is a 4-year EU-funded project aiming to address these challenges by developing electrified, zero-emission production routes for ammonia and methanol. By integrating renewable energy sources, renewable hydrogen and advanced digital technologies, the project supports the EU’s climate goals, driving the transition to a more sustainable, resilient and energy-efficient chemical industry.
